For the past several years I have been acquiring labels
that were used in the medicinal and kitchen herb industry. Here are
some of the most colorful and interesting. These include sage, mustard,
thorn apple, worm wood, poppy, pulverized thyme, pulverized sage,
nightshade, wintergreen, ginger-root, dandelion, popcorn (courtesy
of the Hancock Museum), snakehead, unicorn extract, cayenne, and aromatic
